I keep meaning to talk about all the cover bands and musicians we’ve seen since we’ve been in Costa Rica, but I haven’t been able to get a decent picture or video to effectively demonstrate some of the talent we’ve seen here until now.
There are so many cover bands here, and most of the ones we’ve seen here are actually pretty good. I think the biggest thing that separates a group from the potential tackiness of cover bands, is their sincere love of the music.
A lot of the musicians we’ve seen really love the music of the artists’ work they are emulating. And it really shows. A perfect example is our friend Marvin who plays the bass for a lot these bands. He’s amazing and we’ve seen some great drummers and guitarists too!
Anyway, we went to see Costa Rican rock goddess Martha Fonseca the other night and all our guys friends were completely in love with her – it was actually kinda distracting and extremely entertaining watching the guys moon over as I was trying to enjoy the music!
So here she is – a perfect example to one of the many great musicians we’ve seen here during our stay in Costa Rica
